About

100% Volunteer. 100% Committed to Our Community.

The Westhampton Beach Fire Department is located in Suffolk County, about 80 miles east of New York City. We are proud to be a 100% volunteer department, currently supported by approximately 100 active members.

Our department is organized into four companies: Engine Company, Hook & Ladder Company, Rescue Company, and Fire Police Company. While we do not provide emergency medical transport services, many of our members are certified New York State EMTs or higher. EMS coverage is provided by the Westhampton War Memorial Ambulance, located at Montauk Highway and Hazelwood Avenue.

The department operates a fleet that includes:
3 Engines, 1 Tower Ladder, 1 Heavy Rescue, 1 Tanker, 1 Brush Truck, 1 Utility Truck, 2 Fire Police Vans, a Water Rescue Boat, a High-Water Rescue Truck, and 4 Chiefs’ vehicles.

We work closely with our neighboring departments to provide mutual aid as needed. Our primary mutual aid partners include:

  • Quogue Fire Department (East)
  • Flanders Fire Department (North)
  • East Quogue Fire Department (Northeast)

Primary Fire Response Area

The Westhampton Beach Fire Department proudly serves the Village of Westhampton Beach, Village of West Hampton Dunes, and the hamlets of Westhampton and Quiogue. Our year-round population is approximately 5,000, but that number often more than doubles during the summer months.

The district includes approximately eight miles of beachfront, encompassing seasonal condominiums, large homes, and high-occupancy structures. This diverse geography presents a wide range of fire and rescue challenges—each met with professionalism and preparedness by our volunteer force.
